1. Overview
This guide explains the password requirements enforced by the DataHub system. These requirements apply whenever a user sets or changes a password — including on the Change Password screen and the Forgot Password screen.
2. Where Password Requirements Apply
Screen | When It Appears |
Change Password | When a logged-in user voluntarily updates their password from the account settings. |
Forgot Password | When a user resets their password after losing access to their account. |
3. Password Requirements
All new passwords in the DataHub system must satisfy the following four requirements simultaneously:
1 | Minimum Length The password must be at least 8 characters long. |
2 | Uppercase Letter The password must contain at least one uppercase letter (A–Z). |
3 | Numeric Digit The password must include at least one number (0–9). |
4 | Special Character The password must have at least one special character (e.g. !, @, #, $, %, ^, &, *). |
4. Quick Reference Summary
Requirement | Minimum Count | Example |
Total characters | 8 | MyPass1! |
Uppercase letters (A–Z) | 1 | M, P |
Numeric digits (0–9) | 1 | 1 |
Special characters | 1 | ! |
Note
If your new password does not meet all four requirements, DataHub will display an error message and prompt you to try again. All requirements must be satisfied before the password can be saved. |
